American Diploma
To earn an American Diploma, students must earn the following credits in each area. (See below for credit transfer policy and International Diploma requirements.)
4 Credits in Language Arts and Literature · English 9 (or 9th Grade Level of their Native Language) · English 10 (or 10th Grade Level of their Native Language) · English 11 (American Literature) · English 12 (World Literature)
4 Credits in Mathematics · Introductory Algebra (Algebra 1) · Geometry · Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry (Algebra 2) · Pre-Ccalculus or Calculus
4 Credits in Experimental Sciences · Biology · Chemistry · Physics or Physical Science · Earth Science or Environmental Science or Astronomy or Geology or Oceanography
4 Credits in Social Sciences · American History (1 credit) · World History (1 credit) · World Geography (1 credit) · Economics (Macroeconomics) (.5 credit) · American Government (.5 credit)
3 Credits in World Languages (Students may use their native language) · Beginning Language · Intermediate Language · Advanced Language
1 Credit in Technology · Computer Applications (MS Office Suite)
1 Credit of Health · Wellness and Health (1 credit)
1 Credit of Fine Arts · Visual Arts (or) · Music Appreciation
3 Credits of Electives · (These electives can be courses such as religion or social sciences from their traditional schools)
******* Credit Transfer Policy
Students may transfer credit from their traditional schools to fulfill any of the above requirements, using their native language as foreign language credits. This means that they should only need to complete the following:
American History (1 credit) American Literature (1 credit) American Government (.5 credit) Economics (.5 credit) Health (1 credit)
This means that international students, who transfer in their credits, can complete an American diploma in less than 1 year for approximately $2,000 USD. However, students MUST complete a total of 4 credits with PLC/I in order to qualify for a diploma.
******* International Diploma
In order to earn an International Diploma, students must complete the equivalent of 28 Carnegie Units.
Students must earn the following credits in each area.

3 Credits in World Languages (of the same language) · Beginning Language (other than their native language) · Intermediate Language · Advanced Language
2 Credits in Technology · Technology in the Global Community · Computer Applications (MS Office Suite)
2 Credits of Global Citizenship and Health · Global Citizenship (.5 credit) · Physical Fitness (.5 credit each semester) · Wellness and Health (1 credit)

28 Credits are required to obtain an International Diploma. (This is 7 credits each year, or 3.5 credits each semester). Students who substitute AP courses for traditional courses earn an International Diploma with Distinction.
